Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk Austin Wright (Cambridge, Cambridgeshire) signs with Norwich University (Northfield Vermont, USA) to continue his education and playing career. Austin becomes the first ever County Upper Basketball Academy player to sign with an NCAA Div 3 University.

Norwich University is coached by Paul Booth. With 188 victories at Norwich, Coach Booth is Norwich University’s all-time leader in career wins. Last season, the Cadets finished with a 7W – 19L overall record and a 5W – 13L Great Northeast Athletic Conference record. This was a tough year for the cadets after having a rebuilding year (9 out of their 13 man roster were inexperienced first or second year players). Austin is looking to help bolster the Cadets roster for next season.

Austin had this to say: “it has always been my dream to play basketball at an American University, but before coming to County Upper I thought this may always be a dream. From day one coach Johnson believed in me which helped push me to my limits. I now could not be more prepared for playing basketball at the next level. I want to thank County Upper Basketball Academy for everything they have done to help me achieve my dream, and a big thank you to Coach Johnson for guiding me and believing in me.”

This is fantastic news for County Upper School, Cambridge Cats and Austin” said Coach Johnson, Director of County Upper Basketball Academy. “Austin came to us a year ago with a dream of playing college basketball in America. Since joining our Academy last year this young man has dedicated himself 100% to his study and basketball and now after all his hard work it has paid off. I am glad I was able to help Austin achieve his dream, and look forward to helping other aspiring basketball players achieve their basketball dreams.”
