Testimonials

“I was beginning to wonder if it was going to happen. I was working hard academically at Hills Road Sixth Form College and was grateful for their support in my AS levels, but I was not reaching my potential at basketball I felt. I knew that my best opportunity of achieving my dream was to transfer to County Upper School and become one of the inaugural entrants of the basketball academy, under the guidance of Coach Johnson. Although this year has pushed me hard, I understand that the real work is only just beginning.  I appreciate so much the people who have helped me and believed in me, even my home village Girton has supported me. County Upper Basketball Academy has been ideal for me as it had the academy and it is also a Science Specialist College, which meant that I maintained my academic life as well as playing my sport to a high level. I will miss the staff and students immensely, but wish them even more success in the second year of the academy.”

“When I was younger I always wanted to play basketball in America but as I got older I realised it was not going to be easy and the dream was fading away. A year ago I was beginning my last year of college and began to seriously think I may never play basketball in America and maybe I would really have to get a regular 9 – 5 job. Coach Johnson offered me a place at County Upper Basketball Academy, and said if during this year I gave 100% effort during practices he would help me all he could to gain a place on an American University Basketball team. This year has been very hard work, but it has all paid off as I am on my way to Central Community College in Nebraska. This is the best opportunity of my life and I intend to take full advantage of it. I would recommend County Upper Basketball Academy to any basketball player who is willing to give everything they have to be successful. I would like to thank Coach Johnson for helping me achieve my dream and also County Upper School for a great education and making me feel so welcome”.

“it has always been my dream to play basketball at an American University, but before coming to County Upper I thought this may always be a dream. From day one coach Johnson believed in me which helped push me to my limits. I now could not be more prepared for playing basketball at the next level. I want to thank County Upper Basketball Academy for everything they have done to help me achieve my dream, and a big thank you to Coach Johnson for guiding me and believing in me.”
