County Upper School, BSE. — Darren Johnson, head coach of the County Upper Academy team, has announced the tentative pilot Academy schedule. The 2008-2009 campaign will feature 2 confirmed home games as well as 9 confirmed away fixtures.
County Upper opens up the 2008-2009 campaign with a contest at Colchester Hornets on Sept 23. at 8:00pm. The Colchester Hornets finished the 2007-2008 season with a 17-9 record at EBL D3 men’s level, and won the conference gaining promotion to EBL D2 men’s division. County Upper follows this with a contest against the Bury Bulldogs Men’s first team at 8:00pm on Sep. 24th. County Upper hit the road again on Oct. 2, Oct. 7, and Oct. 13 when they compete against the Southend Scorpions Men’s 1st Team, Brightlingsea Sledghammers, and Uni. of Essex first team respectively.
County Upper’s home debut is set for Oct. 23 when they play host to Paston VI Form in their first ever game of the Academies & VI Form Colleges National Competition.

The big highlight of the schedule is on Nov. 12 when County upper head to Barking, Essex, to face Barking Abbey. Barking Abbey were the English Schools U19 Open division semi-finalists and the English School Academies and VI Forms finalist a year ago.
County Upper returns to the road on Oct 19 when they compete against Colne Basketball Academy in Brightlingsea. Twelve days latter on Dec, 3, County Upper are at RAF Lakenheath High School (although this date might change).
After Christmas, County Upper heads South on the Jan. 9 to compete against the Uni. of Essex first team, who have just been promoted into the BUSA South Eastern D1 conference.
If County Upper wins both their games in the National Schools Academies and VI Form Competition (East Pool 2) they will head into the National stage of the competition, competing in the last 16. All fixtures and times will be listed once known.
To finish the 2008 – 2009 season County Upper has planned a trip to Germany to play 3 games against U19 National League teams, this will take place
County Upper has 2 more possible home games planned, but not yet confirmed. However once these games have been confirmed this schedule will be updated.
